The Heart of The Forest

Hey guys! I'm back with another drawing, and it actually has a background this time!  I've been working on this for ages. I wanted to go with something a bit more realistic, so I really tried my best here! (If only I could draw people as well as I can draw trees, lmao) And sure, I know my trees look a little funky. (Like seriously, what's up with those roots?) In my defense however, it's a "magical" forest so they can technically look as weird as I want them to. 

This brings me to the theme of this picture, which I actually had a little story in mind for. Basically as I said, this forest isn't ordinary. It's hiding a little secret that only so few know about. I like to imagine that Atem is a warrior/hunter, (perhaps taking a rest from battle? Or maybe he's tracking something in the woods. I'll leave it up to your imagination) The bird you see is meant to be Atem's "spirit guide", which is why it's all glowing and stuff. It's here to aid the pharaoh in his troubles.

As I was drawing I was listening to background music. It really helps with inspiration, and it's a great way to dig into the emotions of a picture. I recommend giving it a quick listen. It may help convey some things here that I couldn't quite draw out properly.
